This class is designed
to fulfill the employer's responsibilities for the individual training requirements
of Title 29, part 1910, section 157(g), in their work environment. The basic
program of instruction has been published by the National Fire Protection
Association and is modified to meet the unique hazards of each office and/or
work site. The class is designed to train the general public to: operate portable
fire extinguishers safely and effectively, know the different types of extinguishers
and how to use each type, and evaluate whether or not to fight a fire with
an extinguisher. Additionally, the program reviews the effective use of an
extinguisher and refreshes those employees who may have had previous training.
Note: Safety and Training Officers desiring this training should consider
the potential number of students, location for the class, the availability
of TV/VCR, and if desired, an appropriate out-of-doors location for "hands-on"
demonstration. For detailed planning and scheduling contact our office at:
(512) 835-7697 or (800)300-7651. Business references for this class are available.
